Nanotube Thread Technology

We are getting closer and closer to being able to wear the coolest sounding material ever, wouldn’t you want to wear Elastic Smoke? It is supposed to be an extremely lightweight and incredibly strong thread material which the military will be able to use to make the next generation of ultimate body armor. Anything to reduce the weight of the gear our soldiers would need to carry around to keep them safe is extremely cool news.

This would also be a great way for rappers to accessorize their bling. 50 could finally stop worrying about getting shot for a 10th time!

Thanks to Medgadget for the story and BBC News for the main story and pics.

China, Japan, and South Korea are hard at work creating batteries for the green cars of the future. And so is Michigan.

Having spent more than $700 million in tax incentives since 2006 to attract, retain, and grow battery companies, the state is aiming to become the “advanced battery capital of the world.” There’s wide agreement here on the consequences.
