DriveWire Universal Hard Drive Adapter - Hopefully a Good Impulse Buy

I just got finished watching the latest episode of Geekbrief TV and no more than 5 minutes after finishing their HD version, I ended up ordering the DriveWire Universal Hard Drive Adapter as a (great?) impulse buy.

It turns almost any kind of internal hard drive (SATA, 2.5″ IDE laptop and 3.5″ internal drives) into an external usb 2.0 hd. I have a handful of older IDE hard drives currently sitting in a drawer and have been too lazy/cheap to buy a cheap looking hd enclosure, nas storage device or external usb hds. Now I’ll be able to use these as multiple backup destinations.

Apricorn is also offering a $10 rebate for those who buy this throughout the month of January 2008, bringing the price to just below $30 after all is said and done, which is quite a good deal.
